n Mifflinburg 5,
NORTHUMBERLAND -- Juniata stole home in the first inning and hit an inside-the-park home run in the sixth but it was not enough as Mifflinburg took the elimination bracket win at Acorn Park.
Paul Ames raced around the bases without the ball leaving the yard to cut the lead to 5-4. In the first, Jayce White stole home to get Juniata on the board. However, when Juniata needed them most, hits were hard to come by.
"We just had a lot of trouble hitting the ball," Juniata manager Justin Austin said. "We had some very good pitching, (but) you just can't win games if you don't score runs."
Mifflinburg faces Lewisburg today at 7:30 p.m. in another elimination game.
