High school roundup: Rickert's double-double propels Line Mountain to TVL win

MANDATA -- Cole Rickert stole the show once again for Line Mountain in Thursday's Tri-Valley League matchup against Millersburg.

First, Rickert knocked down five 3-pointers to finish with a game-high 23 points. He also pulled down 18 rebounds and had five steals to lead the Eagles to a 48-41 victory over the Indians.

Bill Breinich added 12 points and Codi Morris chipped in an additional five steals for Line Mountain (8-7, 6-3).

Travis Lamereaux tallied 17 points and Dawson Schlegel had 11 for Millersburg.

Upper Dauphin 49

MILLERSTOWN -- Four players scored in double figures to lead the Wildcats to the TVL win.

Ryan Kerstetter led the way with 13 points, while Tyler Fegley and Josh Ferguson scored 12 apiece and Nick Kerstetter chipped in 10 points for Greenwood (14-2, 10-0 TVL).

Austin M. Weaver tallied 16 points for Upper Dauphin.

COAL TOWNSHIP -- By the time halftime rolled around the Warriors were already down by 23 points as the Red Raiders rolled to the nonleague win.

Zack Oquendo and Matt Savitski led Lourdes (11-3) with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Daniel Severn led Northumberland Christian with 23 points.

n Meadowbrook Chr. 69,

Bloomsburg Christian 58

MILTON -- Graham Feaster not only had a double-double, but he also got hot at the right time in the fourth quarter to help the Lions take the nonleague victory.

Feaster tallied 27 points, including 14 in the final period, and he also pulled down 10 rebounds for Meadowbrook (7-5).

Jordan Hopper scored 15 points and he was among three players for Bloomsburg Christian (11-3) who were in double figures.

n Watsontown Chr. 65,

Walnut Street Chr. 50

WATSONTOWN -- Barry Wohlschlegel and Levi Watts outscored Walnut Street by themselves to help lift Watsontown Christian to its first win of the season. Wohlschlegel scored a team-high 26 while Watts recorded 25 points in the win.

The Crusaders (1-10) pulled away in the second quarter with a 20-point performance to go into the half up by eight. The two were tied at 11-all after one.


n Meadowbrook Chr. 44,

Bloomsburg Christian 33

MILTON -- Despite a 19-point performance from Kristen Broadt, Meadowbrook Christian used a 7-point halftime lead to help defeat Bloomsburg Christian on Thursday.

Micayla Lynd scored a team-high 15 points for the Lions (8-4) while Madison Burrows added 14.

COAL TOWNSHIP -- Nikki Komara scored 18 points and had 11 rebounds, six assists and three steals in the Red Raiders' Schuylkill League win. Rachel Schultz and Sara Getchey both added 14 points for Lourdes (13-2 overall).


n Warrior Run 73,

TURBOTVILLE -- The Defenders racked up eight pins on the night en route to the HAC-II win and the 499th victory of head coach Wayne Smythe's career.

Beginning with Zach LeBarron's fall at 106, Warrior Run also got pins from Eric Hunt (113), Tyler Hornberger (120), Brian LeBarron (126), Brandon Gianantonio (132), Nick Rohm (160), Dan Breech (170), Garrett Moser (182) and Matt Kilgus (220).

n Mifflinburg 50,

Midd-West 28

MIDDLEBURG -- Nazar Mironenko's pin at 285 pounds solidified the Wildcats' hold on the match as they took the HAC-I win.

The only other pin in the mach for Mifflinburg (4-3 overall) came from Noah Kuba at 113. The Wildcats were also the recipients of five forfeit wins.

Alex Leiberman (160), Zach Longacre (195), Kyle Fawver (220) and Cory Stauffer (106) all had pins for Midd-West (7-14).

n Jersey Shore 51,

Milton 25

JERSEY SHORE -- The Black Panthers couldn't keep up with the Bulldogs, who reeled off five straight wins at one point to take the HAC-I win.

Milton (2-5, 2-4 HAC-I) started off with a pin from Ryan Solomon at 220 pounds, but Jersey Shore (7-0, 5-0) won the next five bouts to open up a 28-6 lead.

The Black Panthers though would later get pins from Ryan Preisch (152) and Gage Heller (182).

n Benton 68, Danville 12

BENTON -- Aside from Paul Bellino's pin at 132 pounds, the Ironmen didn't have much luck against the Tigers and fell in the nonleague match.
