District 4 playoffs are set

(Continued)

Bret Berg and Zach Kozick have been Danville's go-to weapons all season, with Berg leading the team with 373 points and 16.9 points per game.

The two finalists advance to the PIAA state tournament.

On the girls side in Class A, No. 3 Lourdes plays No. 6 Galeton on Thursday at Montoursville.

No. 7 East Juniata plays No. 2 Bernton on Friday at Montoursville. The Tigers are in for a tough test against Benton, who feature 6-foot standout senior Justine Seely. Seely is coming off a monster game in the HAC tournament on Saturday against Danville in which she scored 37 points while grabbing down 24 rebounds.

No. 8 Warrior Run's Tay Parker and Steph Shamburg will look to advance in the Class AA field when they play No. 9 Wellsboro on Tuesday at Montoursville. The winner of that game advances to face No. 1 Mount Carmel at a time and place to be determined. The Red Tornadoes have been led all season by senior Christina Perles, who is averaging 16.7 ppg and 6.5 rebounds per game.

On the lower side of the bracket, No. 7 Lewisburg and No. 10 Bloomsburg face off on Tuesday at Danville. No. 6 Montoursville and No. 3 Southern Columbia play on Friday at Danville.

In the Class AAA bracket, five of the six teams in the tournament are local schools, the only exception being No. 1 seeded Athens.

No. 4 Shamokin and No. 5 Milton play on Friday at Danville while No. 3 Shikellamy and No. 6 Selinsgrove play at Milton on Friday.

The Braves have been led by seniors Alexis Angstadt and Cory Yerger. Angstadt scored her 1,000th career point earlier this season and is looking to continue Shikellamy's success this year.

The winner of that game advances to play No. 2 Danville, which is coming off a HAC Tournament championship win against a tough Benton team this past Saturday.

The Lady Ironmen have been solid with freshman Amber Renz, who is leading the team with 16.9 ppg and senior Siobhan Bross (7.8 ppg). Danville also has a nice outside game with senior Donie Ann Keeley's team-high 20 3-pointers while senior Kylie Romeo has added another 17 from downtown.
