LEWISBURG —  Bucknell welcomed 17 players on Wednesday on National Signing Day to the Bison family.

Majority of the signees hail from the northeast region: 11 are from Pennsylvania, New Jersey or New York while two are from Virginia. Others are from Ohio, Maryland, Missouri and Utah.

The group includes 13 players who are expected to play on the defensive side of the ball, while three are listed at offensive positions and one is a kicker.

“We are fortunate to attrack quality young men into our program,” Bucknell coach Joe Susan said. “The signing date represents the culmination of a lot of hard work on the part of our staff, the incoming student-athletes and their families.”

The Bison are coming off a 6-5 season, its second year posting a winning record in the last three seasons. The Bison ended the year on a high note by winning five of their final six and return reglar starters at nine offensive positions and eight defensive.
