The National Christian Soccer Athletic Association announced its 2012-13 All-American and Super-Regional Teams for boys' fall varsity soccer.
Amongst the many names from across the country include the Valley's own Zachary Newbury, a junior at Northumberland Christian.
Newbury was named an All-American second team forward.
Newbury led the area in goals scored last season with 41, 13 more than the next nearest player. The junior also added a Valley-high 18 assists.
According to the NCSAA, Newbury was the second-leading scorer in the country with his 41 goals trailing only Jake Rogalski's 56 of Evangel Heights Christian Academy in Sarver.
In addition to Newbury, David Mahoney (freshman), Newbury and Daniel Severn (sophomore) all received honors on being named to the Northeast Super-Region. Mahoney was a forward with Newbury while Severn was a defensive midfielder.
Mahoney scored 33 goals this past season for Northumberland Christian while Severen added 17 goals.
Mahoney was the third-leading scorer in the country while Severn was 10th.
Newbury and Mahoney each were tied for the third-most assists in the country with 18 while Severn had the fifth-most (16).
Northumberland Christian ended the season 22-3-1 overall and 13-1-0 in the Allegheny Christian Athletic Association Eastern Division, with a league-high 39 points in the division.
Northumberland Christian proceeded to win the ACAA Tournament with a 1-0 win over Meadowbrook Christian in the final. Northumberland Christian blanked Sunbury Christian in the semifinals (4-0) as well.
