H.S. roundup: Lourdes uses fifth inning to beat Schuylkill Haven

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN -- After seeing its four-run lead gradually shrink in the first three innings of the game, Lourdes Regional posted a four-run fifth to edge Schuylkill Haven, 8-7, in a Schuylkill League matchup Wednesday.

Lourdes (2-1, 1-1 SL) opened the game with four runs.

But after Schuylkill Haven (2-6, 0-3) closed to within one after three innings, the four-run fifth proved to be crucial for Lourdes after the Hurricanes also tallied four runs in the frame.

Charlee Rosini (2-1) got the complete-game win and she also doubled, drove in two runs and scored two more for the Red Raiders.

LANCASTER -- Casey Wise knocked in four runs, and Kyle Glouner went 3-for-3 as Upper Dauphin scored a Tri-Valley League win a rout.

The Trojans (4-2, 4-1 TVL) scored 11 runs in the fourth inning and took 19 walks in the game. The Cougars fell to 1-4, 1-3.

DANVILLE -- Not even a four-goal day by Nackea Bachman could upend the Ironmen as they got four goals and two assists from Emily Vella to take the Central Susquehanna Girls Lacrosse League game.

Kat Baum and Lindsey Strawser both added a pair of goals for Danville (3-0).
