Area roundup: Danville 10-11 Little League squad no-hits Potter-McKean

MONTOURSVILLE -- Mavin James worked his way out of a bases-loaded no-out jam on the mound and the scoring was on.

Danville won 25-0 over Potter-McKean with James and Drew Sassaman combined to no-hit Potter-McKean in four innings. An eight-run bottom of the first helped Danville to set the tone. Danville put the exclamation point on their win with a 14-run third inning.

K.J. Riley led Danville offensively with a 4-for-4 day, knocking in four runs and scoring two. Sassaman and James each scored four times and knocked in three runs with James ending the game 2-for-2.

A two-hour storm delay did little to slow down the Danville offense or throw Danville's pitching off its rhythm.

Senior Little League

n Danville 15, Tunkhannock 4

TUNKHANNOCK -- Danville's bats have been on fire recently and the hot hitting continued with a 15-4 Danville win over Tunkhannock at the Baumgartner Complex in Tunkhannock.

An eight-run second inning propelled Danville to the Senior Little League win. Danville kept the pressure on the Tunkhannock defense, leading to four errors.

Colton Riley led Danville with three singles while Koty Lupini finished with two singles and a double.

Junior American Legion

n Selinsgrove 6, Berwick 5

SELINSGROVE -- Down a run heading into the bottom of the seventh, Selinsgrove rallied for two in the frame to grab a 6-5 win over Berwick at home.

Ian Weaver picked a nice time for his first base-knock of the game, delivering the game-winning hit for Selinsgrove. Bernie Byler went 2-for-2 for Selinsgrove.
