TURBOTVILLE -- Luke Hoffner, of Turbotville, holds a 50-point lead over Williamsport's Matt Cochran heading into racing action in the late model division at Clinton County Raceway.

The late models are part of a six-division show this evening, also featured are the 305 sprint cars. The Patriot Sprint Tour is at the track on July 26.

Hoffner is in his 33rd season of racing this year. He has one win at Clinton County this year and six wins overall, giving him 171 wins for his career and 35 late model wins at Clinton County. "We're having a pretty good year," he said. "Hats off to my pit crew, the car hasn't broke."

Hoffner has 16 overall track titles and six at Clinton County.

"I like the place," he said of the 1/3-mile bull ring. "I like racing on the short tracks."

He noted the competition for late models at the bull ring is pretty stiff.

"You have the Yoders', Waylon Wagner, Cochran, I don't want to leave anyone out, but there are a good number of cars that can win here on Friday night," Hoffner said. "It's neat when you win up there since you have good competition."

Hoffner also leads the late model points standings at American Motorsports Park race track in Clearfield.

START TIME: The driver autograph session at Selinsgrove Speedway as part of the fifth annual Driver & Fan Appreciation Night will run from approximately 5:30 to 6:30 behind the speedway's covered grandstand on Saturday. All drivers are invited to participate in the autograph session. Jeff and Kathy Kurtz, owners of Jeff's Auto Body and Recycling Center, are again sponsoring the event.

NIGHT OFF: Port Royal Speedway is taking its summer break on Saturday and is back in action on July 27 when the 305 sprint cars join the 410s and late models. The track has also announced that all restarts for the late models in the feature event will be single file starting with the races on July 27. Blane Heimbach, of Selinsgrove, leads Chad Layton, of Harrisburg, by 105 points after Layton's third win of the season last week.
