LEWISBURG -- A pair of big runs, one in each half, helped the Bucknell women's basketball team do something Wednesday it had not done in nearly four seasons.
The Bison won their fourth game in a row under first-year coach Aaron Roussell, beating Mount St. Mary's 55-43 at Sojka Pavilion. It was the first four-game win streak since the Bison won five in a row early in the 2008-09 season.
Bucknell (4-2) got 11 points each from Shelby Romine and Alyssa Dunn, while Audrey Dotson and Sheaira Jones both added nine for the Bison.
Mount St. Mary's (1-4) and Bucknell were tied at 7-7 early in the game before the Bison ripped off 17 consecutive points to take a 24-7 lead. Jones, a freshman, scored five points in the run while Rachel Voss scored all four of her points.
The Mount got within 10 at the half and then crawled back into the game in the second half, getting within two at 34-32 with 11:33 to play. Dunn and Katherine Harris then hit consecutive 3-pointers to spark a 13-2 run that put the game away. Dunn hit a pair of 3s in the run and Romine scored four as Bucknell took control.
Bucknell held Mount St. Mary's to 25 percent shooting and out-rebounded the Mount by 10.
