NEWPORT -- Austin Bennett threw for 194 yards and a score and Brandon Love returned a kickoff 90 yards for another TD, but East Juniata couldn't keep up with Newport in a Tri-Valley League game Friday night.
The Tigers (1-5, 0-5) led 10-7 after the first quarter thanks to a field goal from Dalton Rowe, and Love's kick return. East Juniata took the lead again in the third quarter on Caleb Gehman's 30-yard TD run, but Newport (2-4, 2-3) scored 29 points in the second half to rally.
Brian Auxt ran for three second-half TDs for the Buffaloes and Justin Temple, who threw a scoring pass in the first half, ran in from 25 yards out in the third quarter.
David Brantley ran for 66 yards and a TD for the Tigers while Bennett connected on 9-of-19 passes for 194 yards and a 63-yard scoring pass to Kevin Allen in the fourth quarter that made it 34-29 with more than half of the fourth quarter to play. Auxt finished with 192 yards and three scores on the ground for the Buffaloes.

MIFFLINTOWN -- Neil Bodley ran for 245 yards and five touchdowns, while halfback Sam Sneath added 117 yards on just nine carries as the Indians rolled to the TVL win over the Trojans.
The Indians (4-2 overall, 3-2 TVL) amassed 479 yards on the ground.
Bodley had three touchdown runs before Upper Dauphin even got on the board as the Indians built a 28-7 lead at the break. Ian Buffington led Upper Dauphin (1-5, 1-4) with 154 yards on the ground and a score.
n Bloomsburg 42, Muncy 20
MUNCY -- Ricky Klingerman threw for 330 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Panthers to the Heartland Athletic Conference-Division III victory over the Indians.
Muncy (4-2 overall, 2-2 HAC-III) jumped out to a 7-0 lead on a 36-yard TD run by Troy Hembury, but the Panthers took control of the game, scoring the next 28 points.
