MONTGOMERY -- Jake Miller hit a walk-off RBI single in the seventh inning to give Montgomery the West Branch League playoff win.

Montgomery (13-6) scored twice in the seventh for its comeback, and the team now moves on to play Milton today at 5:30 p.m.

"We had them on the ropes, but we couldn't close it out. That's the game of baseball," said Hughesville manager Gary Gordner. "It was a well-played game, but now we have to come through the losers' bracket."

Hughesville (9-10) scored both of its runs in the fourth on an RBI double by Brett Reitz and an RBI single by Zach Fry.

n Mifflinburg 5,

Jersey Shore 4

JERSEY SHORE -- Playing the top seed in the West Branch playoffs didn't faze Mifflinburg. The squad held off a late Jersey Shore rally in the seventh inning to secure a 5-4 upset win.

The No. 5 seed had to overcome a three-run deficit in the fourth, scoring two in the fourth and three in the sixth to pull off the comeback.

Oakley Whitesel led Mifflinburg (13-7) with a 3-for-4 day, knocking in two runs and scoring two. Logan Cooper also had two hits for Mifflinburg,

Christian Rishel led Jersey Shore (16-3), going 2-for-4 with two runs.
