Legion All-Stars announced

By The Daily Item

Danville manager Harold Albertson can look back on his American Legion season with pride.

Danville advanced to the final of the Susquehanna Valley Division playoffs and many of his players were named to the Susquehanna Valley Division all-star team.

Second baseman Garrett Krum and pitcher Mason Fausnaught were named to the first team.

Fausnaught contributed on the mound and at the plate in a winners bracket victory for Danville over Shamokin/Mount Carmel, pitching a complete game on the hill and lacing a double and driving home a run at the dish.

Fausnaught was joined among the first-team hurlers by West Snyder's Austin Hockenbrock. Hockenbrock was also named to The Daily Item all-star team after his senior season at Midd-West.

Albertson can also see many of his players on the second team, with Shayne Riley, Jalen Bickhart, Bryson Cromley and Colton Riley selected.

Cromley did most of his damage at the plate, but was also effective on the mound when Albertson needed him. The lefty shut down Selinsgrove in the opening round of the Susquehanna Valley Division tournament in his second start of the Legion season.

Berwick knocked off Danville in the Susquehanna Valley Division playoffs to win its second straight title and the team was well-represented on the all-star roster.

Berwick third baseman T.J. Lashock was named to the first team while Kyle Miller and Clay DeNoia were recognized for their efforts anchoring the Berwick rotation. Miller also swung a big stick when it mattered, driving home two runs during a playoff win over Danville.

On the mound, DeNoia tossed a complete game in the final to clinch Berwick's second straight title.

Sunbury/Norry's Jack Snyder was the recipient of the Ken Lewis Award as league most valuable player.
