SUNBURY -- The Shikellamy girls track and field team has put together an outstanding season, including the program's first-ever victory over Lewisburg, on the legs of its standouts on track.

Tuesday in a Heartland Athletic Conference-Division I battle with Williamsport, the Millionaires proved one of the few teams that can match the Braves in the sprints.

However, senior Hallie Blackwell won two throwing events for a Braves crew that scored 23 of a possible 27 points in the throws, and Shikellamy also swept the triple jump in an 85-65 win over Williamsport.

"I'm proud of our girls. It was a team effort. Some of our other wins came from because we rode our stars, like that Lewisburg win," Shikellamy coach Jon Evans said. "(Tuesday's win) was a team effort. We had PRs all over the place."

Blackwell might have picked up the biggest win for the Braves (5-1 overall, 4-1 HAC-I) in the shot put. Williamsport freshman Jaynelle Robinson finished fourth at Saturday's Lock Haven Invitational with a throw of 36-5. Blackwell, who didn't place at Lock Haven, threw a personal best 34-3 Tuesday to beat the Millionaire.

Blackwell also led a sweep (along with Melissa Myers and Zoe Berkheimer) in the discus, while Mariah Morales won the javelin.

Then some of the youngest Braves swept the triple jump as sophomore Kierra Smith won with a leap of 33-1 ΒΌ, while freshmen Payton Kearney and Oanye Simms took second and third.

"I was very surprised that we swept the triple jump and won the shot put," Evans said. "We have a senior girl (Blackwell) who has been at it for a long time and they have an up-and-coming freshman (Robinson) in the shot put. Hallie did a great job."

Shikellamy freshman Treicy Cedeno had another outstanding day for the Braves. She won the 1600 (5:37.71) and 3200 (11:54) by over 10 seconds. She also anchored a 3,200 relay that kicked off the meet with a season-best 10:11.56.
