H.S. roundup: Austin Renz leads Danville's golf team at Bucknell GC

LEWISBURG -- Danville is still rolling along this season as the Ironmen carded a team score of 323 to take the Heartland-II match Tuesday at Bucknell Golf Club.

Austin Renz shot a 4-under-par 68 and Zach Schutter fired a 77 to lead Danville (10-0) and the remaining golfers on the day.

Kyle Brady added an 85 and Gavin Geiger had a 93 to round out the Ironmen's four scorers.

Lewisburg (5-5) finished a distant second on the day with a 351. Ben Apple led the Green Dragons with an 82, while Mitchell Graves and Nick Chamberlin both carded 86s for the Green Dragons.

MIDDLEBURG -- Selinsgrove handed Shikellamy its first loss of the season by edging the Braves, 332-333, to win the match played at Shade Mountain Golf Course.

Selinsgrove (12-3) got a 76 from Colin Rice, an 82 from Logan Sears and an 83 from Justin Geedey.

Shikellamy (14-1) was paced by a 1-over-par 73 from C.J. Tyler. The Braves also got a 79 from Dakota Portzline and an 87 from Raven Fatool.

Host Midd-West (7-8) was fourth on the day and Mifflinburg (2-13) was fifth. Aiden Edmiston led the Mustangs with an 88, while the Wildcats were paced by an 85 from Matt Southerton.

NORTHUMBERLAND -- Bethany Severn recorded a hat trick and she finished with a total of four points as the Warriors opened their season with the ACAA victory.

Riley Book and Allison Moore also tallied goals for Northumberland Christian. It was the first career goal for Book.

NORTHUMBERLAND -- Daniel Severn scored a pair of first-half goals to help lead the Warriors to the season-opening Allegheny Christian Athletic Association win.

In the second half, David Mahoney added a goal and an assist, plus Joe Amato scored his first career goal for Northumberland Christian.
