"It was a good start to the season. In the first game you always worry about how the team will respond," said Lewisburg coach Jose Vega. "We came out strong and we got on top of Williamsport early.
"Moore and Velz both had great games, and it was a good performance overall," added Vega.
Velz later scored her second goal midway through the second half off an assist from Amanda Kelly.

COAL TOWNSHIP -- Trailing 2-1, Bailey Bzdak scored two goals to give the Tigers the lead and they never looked back as they took the HAC-II win.
Mackenzie Clark led Southern (2-0, 1-0 HAC-II) with three goals and three assists.

HUGHESVILLE -- The Spartans tallied four of their goals in the first half to cruise to the HAC-II win.
Kierra Brown made four saves in goal for Mifflinburg (0-3, 0-1 HAC-II), which was edged in shots, 12-10.

MANDATA -- Ethan Marquette-Hulsizer made 18 saves for the Eagles, but the Wildcats still managed to find the net 10 times for the Tri-Valley League win. Line Mountain falls to 1-2, 0-1 in league play.

HUMMELSTOWN -- It was a tough night for the Wildcats, who were out-shot 25-4 to fall to the Crusaders in the nonleague matchup. Greenwood is now 2-1 on the season.
MONTGOMERY -- Danville continues to cruise through the season as its top four scorers all shot under 90 to result in a 13-stroke victory over Central Columbia, 335-348.
Austin Renz carded a 75 to lead Danville (15-0) and receive top medalist honors as well. Mark Mullery added an 84, Gavin Geiger shot an 87 and Dan Seebold fired an 89 for the Ironmen.
Lewisburg (8-7) finished in third place with a 361 total. Leading the Green Dragons was Ben Apple, who shot an 84.
