Harold Raker's H.S. football predictions

Selinsgrove at Shikellamy -- The Braves will have to play a clean game and have some luck go their way. Selinsgrove 33, Shikellamy 19.

Shamokin at Danville -- The veteran Ironmen will be too much for the young Indians. Danville 40, Shamokin 14.

Mifflinburg at Milton -- It's tough to pick against the Wildcats after last week's performance. Mifflinburg 34, Milton 21.

Southern Columbia at Mount Carmel -- Coaches like to deal with one game at a time, but this one is marked on calendars months before kickoff. Southern 28, Mount Carmel 21.

Warrior Run at Bloomsburg -- Mike Kogut got his first win with the Panthers last week and he won't have much trouble getting his second against the undermanned Defenders. Bloomsburg 42, Warrior Run 14.

Lewisburg at Hughesville -- The Green Dragons lick their wounds and move on to stay in the playoff hunt. Lewisburg 34, Hughesville 13.

Juniata at Line Mountain -- The Eagles also bounce back after a tough loss to their rival to the south. Line Mountain 25, Juniata 20

Central Columbia at Loyalsock -- The Blue Jays have to hope the Lancers have a letdown after last week's heartbreaking loss. Loyalsock 21, Central 8.

Pine Grove at East Juniata -- Can the Cardinals stop the red-hot Tigers or will EJ start 3-0? East Juniata 20, Pine Grove 19.

Halifax at Upper Dauphin -- After getting a forfeit win over Camp Hill (ineligible player) and playing TVL favorite Williams Valley tough for three quarters, the Trojans are ready for a win on the field. Upper Dauphin 24, Halifax 7.

Williams Valley at Millersburg -- A big win over rival Line Mountain should have boosted the Indians' confidence, but probably not enough to hold off the Vikings. Williams Valley 28, Millersburg 14.

Elsewhere: Towanda over Athens, Wyalusing over Bucktail, North Penn-Blossburg over Canton, South Williamsport over Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech, Wellsboro over Cowanesque Valley, Montoursville over Jersey Shore, Muncy over Montgomery, Troy over Sayre, Abington Heights over Williamsport, Hancock (Md.) over Carson Long, Tri-Valley over Newport, Schuylkill Haven over Minersville, North Schuylkill over Jim Thorpe, Blue Mountain over Pottsville, Tamaqua over Shenandoah Valley, and Berwick over Dallas.

Last week: 18-7; season: 41-14 (.745).
