n GETTING BIGGER: Former Central Pa. and World of Outlaws sprint car series regular Lucas Wolfe, of Mechanicsburg, will be competing in the Port Royal Speedway's Living Legends Dream Race for 410 sprints honoring Todd Shaffer and Patty Beam.
Wolfe will be behind the wheel of a Michael Heffner-owned No. 27 entry after debuting the car at Grandview Speedway on Tuesday.
n DOG DAYS: The points battle at Big Diamond Speedway is heating up now that August has arrived as some of the top runners in the tracks three divisions -- 358 modifieds, sportsman modifieds and roadrunners -- had a rough week last week.
A regular three-divisions show is on tap for tonight along with one-on-one match races for the sportsman. Craig VonDohren leads the 358 modified points by 108 markers over Meme DeSantis, while Jared Umbenhauer leads Billy Moyer Jr. by 74 points in the sportsman modified division.
n STREAK SNAPPED: Fred Rahmer's streak of 42 straight top-10 finishes came to an end at Path Valley Speedway on Sunday. Rahmer announced he was retiring at the end of the season last week.
In final race at Grandview Speedway, where he started his career in the modifieds, he finished fifth in the 410 sprint car make-up feature from the Pa. Sprint Car Speedweek rainout July 2.
