LITTLE LEAGUE SOFTBALL
Warrior Run’s 9-10 Division All-Stars erupted for some pre-Fourth of July fireworks when they scored 11 runs in both the second and third innings to rout Mifflinburg, 22-2, in a four-inning District 13 Tournament game Sunday at the Frantz and Moser Complex.
Gracy Beachel helped fuel the second inning with an inside-the-park home run, while the outburst in the third was aided by an inside-the-park homer hit by Kaelyn Watson.
Beachel finished with three hits, while Valandra McHenry and Mikaela Majcher added two hits apiece for Warrior Run, which had a total of 10 hits on the day.
McHenry also caught a complete-game effort from pitcher Lauren Trapani.
Warrior Run will play Danville in the winners’ bracket final on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
Mifflinburg falls into the elimination bracket and plays Milton on Thursday at 5:30.
Danville 13, Milton 8
TURBOTVILLE — Danville took advantage of 11 walks and a complete-game pitching performance from Cara Bohner to down Milton in a 9-10 Division game.
Bohner scored three runs herself to lead Danville.
Leah Walter and Katy Weaver both went 2-for-3 and scored a total of five runs to lead Milton.

Danville 15, Warrior Run 4
BLOOMSBURG — Danville was off and running any time a base runner, using speed and frequent hitting to score 15 runs.
Danville pounded 28 hits, coming back from an early one-run deficit. Kyle Kizis was 4-for-5 at the plate and earned the win on the mound, pitching five innings and striking out nine,
Selinsgrove 6, Juniata 5 (8 inn.)
Selinsgrove 7, Juniata 3
SELINSGROVE — A Colton Brouse RBI-single helped Selinsgrove take a win in eight innings against Juniata in the continuation of an earlier game from this year on Sunday afternoon.
Jake Nylund doubled to start the eighth inning off before Austin Benner was hit by a pitch. Aiden Greek then singled to load the bases with no outs before Brouse ended the game with his single.
In the second game, Tyler Cook and Leley Kieu each went 2-for-3 while Cook had a double to help Selinsgrove (7-5) win easily.
Benner also had a double with four RBIs.
Hughesville 11, Lewisburg 5
LEWISBURG — An eight-strikeout performance through five innings helped Hughesville keep Lewisburg’s bats at bay en route to a West Branch League victory.
Hughesville (7-3) blew the game open in the seventh with a 5-run inning.
Lewisburg collected eight hits in the loss, led by Luke Smith’s 3-for-4 day with a triple and three RBIs.
