High school roundup: Lewisburg girls pull away from Shamokin

LEWISBURG -- Fueled by a game-high 21 points from Emily Conrad, Lewisburg got up big over Shamokin before taking a 47-34 nonleague victory Monday.

Lewisburg (2-1) outscored the Indians 19-6 points in the second quarter to take a 27-12 halftime lead. No other period had a spread wider than two points.

Also for the Green Dragons, Kirsten Blakeslee had 10 rebounds and Lenore Doyle had eight points and four steals.

Catie Pancher led Shamokin (1-2) with 12 points.

South Williamsport 40

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT -- A double-double by Amber Renz propelled the Ironmen to the nonleague win.

Renz scored a game-high 31 points and also pulled down 14 rebounds for Danville (2-0). Paige Harris had a near double-double of 11 points and nine rebounds.

Jen Jackson paced South Williamsport with 19 points.

Millersburg 45

MILLERSBURG -- The Eagles saw three players wind up in double figures in the Tri-Valley League win over the Indians.

Madison Lagerman led the way for Line Mountain (1-2, 1-0 TVL) with 18 points. Caitlin Scott added 11 points, and Colleen Troutman chipped in 10 points.

Jess Zimmerman also had eight points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles.

Brooke Shomper tallied 15 points to lead Millersburg.

n Warrior Run 56,

Midd-West 45

MIDDLEBURG -- The Mustangs hung around until the third quarter, and that's when the Defenders took command of the game and the nonleague win.

Warrior Run led by just 29-25 at the half, but the Defenders out-scored Midd-West 15-6 in the third to pull away.

Steph Shamburg led Warrior Run with 19 points, while Madi Welliver and Chloe Eisenhuth added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Morgan Shirk paced the Mustangs with 14 points.

NORTHUMBERLAND -- The Warriors easily took the nonleague victory behind eight points from Bailey King and 13 rebounds from Jordan Carr. Northumberland, which didn't allow a point until the fourth quarter, improves to 3-1.


n Central Columbia 59,

Milton 52

ALMEDIA -- Central Columbia made nine 3-pointers and 16 of 23 free throws to pull away from Milton in a HAC crossover game.

The Blue Jays got a game-high 17 points (including four 3s) from Adam Zalewski, while Payton Aucker and Joey Eckenrode added 13 and 11, respectively.

Travis Krall led Milton (1-2) with 16 points. Wade Heidel and Logan Feltman each scored nine.
