High school roundup: Indians edge Rangers on late free throws

MOUNT CARMEL -- With three double-digit scorers the Red Tornadoes claimed a convincing HAC-II win over the Defenders.

Steph Shamburg led Warrior Run (12-6, 5-6 HAC-II) with 23 points.

Ali Varano paced Mount Carmel with 19 points.

Williams Valley 52, Line Mountain 45

MANDATA -- Three players who scored in double figures weren't enough for the Eagles as they fell in the TVL game.

Colleen Troutman scored 13 points and had seven rebounds, while Madeline Reed added 12 points for Line Mountain (4-16).

Sunbury Christian 59, Walnut Street Chr. 19

JERSEY SHORE -- A near triple-double by Abby Daddario lifted the Eagles to the Allegheny Christian Athletic Association win.

Daddario scored 25 points and had eight assists and seven rebounds for Sunbury Christian (18-1, 10-0 ACAA). Tori Erdman added 16 points, six rebounds and three assists for the Eagles.

Meadowbrook Chr. 58, Columbia County Chr. 53

MILTON -- Madison Burrows scored 20 points and Micayla Lynd added 16 in the ACAA win for the Lions. Meadowbrook improves to 13-5 overall.

North. Christian 43, New Covenant Acad. 21

NORTHUMBERLAND -- Alyssa Wesner had yet another double-double to lead the Warriors to the ACAA win.

Wesner scored 26 points and pulled down18 rebounds, while Jordan Carr had 11 rebounds and Terah Lee Hayner had eight assists.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Greenwood 73, Halifax 31

MILLERSTOWN -- An all-around solid night by Josh Ferguson led Greenwood to the Tri-Valley League win.

Ferguson scored 13 points, dished out 11 assists, pulled down six rebounds and had five steals for Greenwood (17-3, 13-1 TVL). Tyler Fegley and Adam Harrison added 15 points apiece for the host Wildcats.

Sunbury Christian 47, Walnut Street Chr. 37

JERSEY SHORE -- Blake Spangler-Jones' 22 points helped lift the Eagles to the ACAA win. Sunbury Christian improves to 9-13, 6-6 in league play.

Meadowbrook Chr. 62, Columbia County Chr. 42

MILTON -- Fourteen points from Curtis Klodnicki and 13 from Graham Feaster helped give the Lions the ACAA win. Tyler Baughman added 10 points for Meadowbrook Christian (12-7, 9-0 ACAA).
