LEWISBURG -- A better start to the game was all it took for the Mount Carmel girls basketball team to take a 40-37 Heartland-II victory over Lewisburg on Monday.
Mount Carmel (17-3, 12-1 HAC-II), which clinched the division title over the weekend, got 13 points apiece from Anna Raybuck and Christina Perles.
The Red Tornadoes took a 15-9 lead after one.
Lewisburg (15-6, 8-5) got 14 points and 15 rebounds from Lois Lesher, plus 13 points from Maria Kelleher, who needs just 23 more points for 1,000 in her career.
Danville 48, Jersey Shore 37
JERSEY SHORE -- Siobhan Bross and Kylie Romeo may have only scored eight points between them, but they combined to dish 13 assists as the Ironmen took the HAC-I win.
Freshman Amber Renz took care of the scoring for Danville (15-4, 9-3 HAC-I), tallying a game-high 24.

LANCASTER -- Sarah Lahr's 16 points and 10 more from Madison Lagerman gave the Eagles a Tri-Valley League win.
Sunbury Chr. 47, Juniata Mennonite 22
MCALISTERVILLE -- Tori Erdman had a double-double and Faith Gingrich nearly had one as the Eagles took the Allegheny Christian Athletic Association win.
Erdman scored 17 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for Sunbury Christian (19-1, 11-0 ACAA).

NORTHUMBERLAND -- Alyssa Wesner scored the points, while Jordan Carr and Calista Ulmer did the rebounding to lead the Warriors to the nonleague win.
Wesner tallied 20 points and Carr and Ulmer both pulled down nine rebounds each for the Warriors (13-9).
Danville 87, Southern Columbia 60
CATAWISSA -- Danville had four different players score in double-figures as the Ironmen eliminated Southern from playoff contention in a HAC crossover game.
Matt McConnell led the Ironmen (18-2, 13-0 HAC-I) with 18 points, while Austin Renz added 17.
Bloomsburg 54, Selinsgrove 32
SELINSGROVE -- The Panthers spread the ball around and outscored the Seals 24-7 in the second quarter to run away for the HAC crossover win. Bob Lamont paced Selinsgrove (7-14) with 10 points.
