8:45 p.m.: Shamokin's Samantha Carpenter finished third in the B finals with a time of 1:07.38 in the 100 yard breaststroke, an improvement of her preliminary time of 1:08.43. She finished 11th overall.
8:40 p.m.: Lewisburg's Caitlin Foley takes a bronze medal home, as she places third in the 100 yard backstroke final with a time of 56.78. Allie Szekely, of Gwynedd Mercy, fnished first with a time of 54.55.
8:21 p.m.: Mifflinburg's Adriana Grabski is taking home yet another gold medal, as the senior Wildcat won the 100 yard freestyle with a time of
49.88, edging her preliminary time of 50.30. It's Grabski's sixth career PIAA swimming gold medal.
5:30 p.m.: In the 500 freestyle finals, Adon Shapiro, of Lewisburg, took second in the B final wtih a time of 4:46.72
Danville's Joe Malafronte won the B final of the 100 yard freestyle wtih a time of 48.12.
Morning sessions: The Valley got off to a decent start in the morning on the boys side at Bucknell University. Lewisburg's Adon Shapiro finished 10th in the 500 yard frestyle preliminaries with a time of 4:48.00 while Danville's Joe Malafronte took ninth in the 100 freestyle preliminaries (48.54).
Southern Columbia's Jake Ryan, swimming for Bloomsburg, finished 30th in the 100 yard backstroke preliminaries with a time of 57.05. The first place finisher was Brent Benedict, of Corry Area, with a time of 49.90.
On the girls side, Shamokin's Samantha Carpenter finished 14th in the 100 yard breaststroke preliminaries with a time of 1:08.43, nearly five seconds behind first-place finisher Lauren Barber, of Wilmington Area.
In the 100 backstroke preliminaries, Lewisburg's Caitlin Foley finished third with a time of 57.06. Allie Szekely, of Gwynedd Mercy, took first with a time of 53.80. And last, but not least, Mifflinburg's Adriana Grabski, who won gold on Friday night in the 50 freestyle, made it look easy in the 100 yard freestyle preliminaries, finishing in first place with a time of 50:30, nearly a second better than the second-place finisher.
