H.S. roundup: C.J. Tyler shoots 68 to pace field in HAC-1 golf matchup

MONTGOMERY -- C.J. Tyler backed up a season-opening tie for first with a seven-stroke victory at White Deer Golf Course to help Shikellamy take the HAC-I matchup.

Tyler's 68 beat out a 75 from Williamsport's William Knauth. Shikellamy (10-0) beat Williamsport 325-338 for first, followed by Selinsgrove, Midd-West, Loyalsock/Montour and Mifflinburg.

Colin Rice also shot in the 70s, carding a 78 for Selinsgrove.

WILLIAMSPORT -- Shikellamy's girls tennis team didn't fare too well against the Millionaires on Wednesday afternoon, playing two matches and getting blanked in both.

Williamsport's Maggie Manchester proved to be too much against Tracy Knorr, as Manchester won both times, 6-0, 6-0.

Shikellamy drops to 0-3 on the season while Williamsport improves to 3-0. The Braves travel to Montoursville on Monday.

Selinsgrove 1

SELINSGROVE -- Selinsgrove grabbed a straight-sets win from Sara Moyer at first singles but the Warriors won the other matches in straight sets for the victory.

At No. 2 doubles, Montoursville pulled out a tight match that was decided in two tie-breaks as Abby Way and Grace McNamara outlasted Olivia Fravel and Jess Kerstetter.
