Local roundup: Shikellamy's Cedeno wins at Big Valley

CROSS COUNTRY

REEDSVILLE -- Just one meet into the 2013 season, the girls cross country teams from Lewisburg and Shikellamy are already making noise.

At the Big Valley Invitational on Saturday, Shikellamy claimed the individual title as sophomore Treicy Cedeno crossed the finish line in first place in 19 minutes, 29 seconds.

Lewisburg's girls team claimed the Class AA race and the Green Dragons were also second in the overall standings behind State College, 59-104.

Finishing behind Cedeno for the Braves was her freshman sister, Yoangelys, who was fifth in 20:01 as Shikellamy was second in the AA race and eighth overall.

Lewisburg's girls were led by Blake Baylor, who was sixth in 20:39. Jenna Farmer added a seventh-place finish in 20:47, while Allison Graham was 10th (21:08), Jordan Hartzell was 11th (21:22), and Katie Edwards was 15th (21:52).

On the boys side, Lewisburg finished fifth overall with 208 points. The Green Dragons also won the AA race with 64 points.

Lewisburg was led by Nicholas Scullin (22nd, 17:48), Alden Davidson (38th, 18:23) and Anthony Bach (40th, 18:27).

Shikellamy's boys were 16th. The Braves were led by Aaron Schaffer-Neitz (42nd, 18:34) and Dylan Houseknecht (64th, 19:35).

PLYMOUTH -- After a scoreless first half, the Seals roared back with four straight goals to pull away for the victory.

Nora Aucker added two late goals for the Seals, who out-shot Wyoming Valley West, 23-4.

MANDATA -- Olivia Kleman scored the lone goal of the game as Line Mountain used a 15-3 advantage in penalty corners to keep pressure on Bloomsburg.

Kortnee Schwartz and Chloe Poltonavage scored for the Eagles in a 2-0 win over Shikellamy in the second game.
