SUNBURY -- Better late than never is what they always say, and it certainly was true in the case of Shikellamy and Seth Burk in Wednesday's Heartland-I matchup versus Williamsport.
The Braves celebrated senior night against the Millionaires. However, Burk, a junior, got an assist from Anthony Velasquez, a freshman, to score the only goal the hosts needed with nine minutes remaining in the game to take a 1-0 victory.
Velasquez received a punt from goalkeeper Justin Engle before he dished the ball to Burk, who then buried it into the corner of the net.
"The guys were up to play the game. Williamsport goalkeeper (Brett Cavanaugh) had a good night. We hit him with a ton of shots," said Shikellamy coach Jon Steese. "We had a lot of opportunities to score, and the seniors had a good game."
