HS roundup: Another double-double by Wesner

GIRLS BASKETBALL

BLOOMSBURG — A double-double by Alyssa Wesner propelled Northumberland Christian to a 43-20 nonleague victory over Bloomsburg Christian on Monday.

Wesner totaled 25 points and 15 rebounds for Northumberland (3-0), which also got 10 rebounds from Dorothyann Reich.

Kristen Broadt paced Bloomsburg Christian (1-4) with 14 points.

BLOOMSBURG — Behind a pair of 30-point scorers, the Knights broke open a close game at the half and took the nonleague victory.

Northumberland Christian (1-2) led 39-36 at the break, but Bloomsburg Christian out-scored the Warriors 44-24 in the final 16 minutes.

Daniel Severn and Gabriel Bahner scored 22 and 19 points, respectively, for the Warriors.

Judson Green and Tim Smith combined for 66 points for Bloomsburg Christian.

Watsontown Chr. 45


WATSONTOWN — Blake Spangler-Jones scored a game-high 38 points, including sinking four 3-pointers and shooting 10-for-14 from the free throw line, to lead the Eagles to a win over the Crusaders.

Watsontown Christian was led by Levi Watts’ 13 points and 16 points from Barry Wohlschlegel in the loss. Watsontown Christian trailed by only 7 going into the half.

Jones also pulled down seven rebounds and Ashton Bartlett added six points and six rebounds for Sunbury Christian.
