MIFFLINBURG -- Milton's six-run fifth inning wasn't enough, as Mifflinburg answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 7-6 Susquehanna Valley League victory Wednesday and qualify for the District 4 playoffs.
Milton (2-15 overall and SVL) was down 5-0 entering the fifth, but a three-run triple by Tony Fannick and a two-run double by Andy Kerstetter helped give the Black Panthers a one-run lead.
A double by Jimmy Brobst started the bottom half of the fifth for Mifflinburg (10-7, 10-7). Brobst then stole third and Phil Rathfon walked before John Miller hit a sacrifice fly to plate Brobst with the tying run.
Rathfon later stole third and scored the winning run on Travis Moyer's RBI single.
Moyer finished 3-for-3 and stole three bases, while Rathfon, Curt Zimmerman and Brandon Hendrix each finished with two hits for the Wildcats.
Ethan Ernst took the loss for Warrior Run (1-16, 1-16), also going the distance, and was the lone Defender with multiple hits in the contest.
