SELINSGROVE -- Good teams know how to defend against emotional letdowns after hard-fought games.

After Tuesday's tough one-goal victory over previously unbeaten Montoursville, Milton kept its focus against equally tough Selinsgrove to take a 2-1 victory over the Seals in a Heartland Athletic Conference Division I matchup on Thursday.

Milton (12-3-1, 11-2-1 HAC-I) scored both of its goals in the first half from Maggie Keiser and Caitlin Landis. Landis and Moira Nester added assists for the Black Panthers.

"We did a really good job recovering from a tough game against Montoursville," Milton coach Steve Thomas said. "Everybody gave a great effort to get us the win."

Kelsey Fisher scored unassisted with 17:42 left in the second half to cut the deficit to one for Selinsgrove (11-3-1, 10-3-1).

SUNBURY -- Cheyenne Spade's unassisted goal with 28:56 left in the first half was all that the Mustangs needed to take the HAC-I victory.

Brooke Keister made five saves to get the shutout for Midd-West (12-3-1, 10-3-1 HAC-I).

Danielle Erdley also made five saves to keep Shikellamy (4-7-3, 4-6-3) in the game.
