Big second quarter keys Mount Carmel victory

— HUGHESVILLE — Behind a potent running game, Mount Carmel scored 21 points in the second quarter and cruise to a 41-21 Heartland-II victory over Hughesville on Friday.

Blake Panko rushed for 26-yard touchdown in the first quarter and a five-yard score in the fourth for Mount Carmel (5-3 overall).

Quarterback Zach Wasilewski added a one-yard touchdown run in the second quarter before he threw a two-yard scoring pass from Tyler Thompson.

All total, the Red Tornadoes ran for 267 yards on 43 carries, and Wasilewski also threw for 97 yards in the win.
