— Stocking trout in the midst of the season is one way that the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission has to keep the “first day excitement” alive throughout the year. Also, it’s great fun to tag along with the stocking trucks to help out and to see first-hand where the big lunkers are being stocked.
In Columbia County, stockings will happen in Briar Creek Lake on May 10, Fishing and Roaring Creeks this Friday, Huntington and Little Fishing Creeks on May 8.
In northern Dauphin County, Armstrong Creek will be stocked on May 6 and Rattling Creek on May 8.
Little Shamokin Creek and the Zerbe Run Rod and Gun Club’s pond in Northumberland County will be re-stocked this Thursday and the entire length of Limestone Run that runs through Montour and Northumberland counties will be stocked on May 20.
Middle Creek in Snyder County will get plenty more fresh fish on Monday.
Don’t forget that the annual Union County Sportsmen’s Youth Fishing Derby is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. on May 17.
