MOUNT GRETNA — To celebrate its 33rd year, Music at Gretna announces an August schedule packed with something for everyone, and certainly something happening nearly every day.
Events begin Aug. 1 and end on Aug. 31. Jazz of all sorts and kinds, chamber music, string quartets with special guests, big brass, comedy and one-of-a kind events will take the stage at the Mount Gretna Playhouse.
Performers include Jimmy Sturr, polka king; the New Black Eagles Jazz Band; the Wister String Quartet; the Capitol Steps; the Audubon String Quartet; Leon Redbone and the Four Freshman, among many others.
A special four-performance run of Moliere’s classic comedy, “Tartuffe, or The Hypocrite,” will round out the month. The play is directed by Elizabethtown College professor Michael Swanson.
