Published August 12, 2009 09:10 pm - In addition to the two-day Sunbury River Festival lineup and Riverstock/Woodstock celebrations, other music worth hearing this week includes the Fabulous Spastics at the Lewisburg American Legion Post 182 on Buffalo Road from 7-10 p.m. Friday, and their annual charity show at Buffalo Bill’s on Route 15 south of Lewisburg on Sunday starting around 1 p.m., featuring the Spastics, along with Billy D and Rosie, Under Construction, Bryan Noaker, Corey Kyle and Elvis W.

Tonight, Chicken Tractor is at the Selins Grove Brewing Co., Market Street, Selinsgrove, from 7-10 p.m. Mark Tomeo will bring his jazz guitar to the Old Forge Brewing Co. on Mill Street in Danville from 6-10 this evening, too. And the Ann Kerstetter Band is on the patio at the Pine Barn Inn in Danville tonight from 7-10. Call 275-2071 for reservations there.

On Friday evening, the Folk Justice Band is on the terrace at Front street Station, Northumberland, from 7-10 p.m.

Saturday’s entertainment at Front Street is Bruce Barr, with Tim Attinger and Bill Stetz, again from 7-10 p.m. Also on Saturday, Chance is entertaining at the Montour-Delong Fair in Washingtonville with shows at 7 and 9 p.m. Saturday night, Greg Burgess has a solo gig at Penn’s Tavern at Fisher’s Ferry, a few miles south of Sunbury on Route 147 from 6-9 p.m. Call 286-2007 for reservations. It’s customer appreciation night at Penn’s. Buy one meal, get a second one at half price. What a deal!

The Ann Kerstetter Band is at Skeeter’s BBQ on the hill above Tedd’s Landing in Shamokin Dam on Sunday from 5-8 p.m., outdoors, weather permitting. Ann’s also planning a CD release cruise on the Hiawatha riverboat in Williamsport on Aug. 22. Call the Hiawatha office at 326-2500 for information and tickets, which are $10.

Next Wednesday, the Burgess-Mitchell-Seal Trio will be back at Brasserie Louis, Market Street in Lewisburg, from 6-9 p.m.

Well-known area drummer Steve Mitchell is a bit under the weather, having suffered a fall at a recording session last week. He’s recovering from a couple of cracked ribs and a badly wrenched knee, taking a few weeks off to heal before he’s back behind the drum kit with the Burgess-Mitchell-Seal Trio.
