Owners of the rink, located on Route 225 south of the Line Mountain Middle/High School, are asking skaters to write an essay of 200-250 words telling, “What I Like Most About Roller Skating.”

DORNSIFE — October is National Roller Skating Month, and the Skatery, a local roller rink, is celebrating with an essay contest. Owners of the rink, located on Route 225 south of the Line Mountain Middle/High School, are asking skaters to write an essay of 200-250 words telling, “What I Like Most About Roller Skating.”
Age categories are: 6-10 years, 11-14 years, 15-19 years, 20 years and older; one entry per writer.
First place winners in each age division receive a free year of skating at the Skatery. Second place winners receive a card for free skating once a month for a year. All other entrants will receive a free Skatery pass.
Winning essays will be published on the Skatery Web site. If the writer prefers, his or her name will not be published.
To enter, writers are asked to submit a 200-250 word composition, either typed or neatly hand-written to:

Attach a separate sheet with writer’s name, age, birth date, address and e-mail (if available). Enclose a small self-addressed, stamped envelope for a pass to be sent. Submissions may also be dropped off at the rink.
Deadline for submissions to be received is Oct. 20 with winners being announced Nov. 1. Entries are to be judged on the enthusiasm expressed by the writer.
