I’ve got to push this week’s column a little, what with it being a short week and all that, so let’s get right to it. Tonight — yes, that’s right, Thanksgiving night — the PopTart Monkeys will be at McGuigan’s Public House, 266 Market St., Sunbury, with the doors opening at 7 p.m.

If you get worn out shopping tomorrow and want to relax with some good music, come out to the King Street Coffeehouse at the Savoy, 221 Front St., Northumberland, for some good live music. Danville’s Rob Baylor opens the evening, followed by Grammy nominee Lester Hirsh, with Lawson and Disorder wrapping up the evening. The doors open at 6 for dinner, with music starting at 7. Cover is $6.

Also tomorrow, Will the Fiddler will be at McGuigan’s Public House on Market Street, Sunbury from 6-8:30 p.m. At the Mifflinburg VFW, Tonedogz will entertain from 9-midnight.

Younger folks may want to head for the Stonington Fire Co. on Route 61 on Saturday night for an all ages show featuring no less than five bands. The show, from 6-11 p.m., features Shoot Me Dead of Milton, Selinsgrove’s Circle 7, Ron Fleegor and the Stranger from Williamsport, the Quarry Road Project from Catawissa and A Farewell Rescue of Northumberland. Original rock, punk rock, classic rock and blues — what more could one ask? A canned food drive for Haven Ministry will be conducted, and those who bring a can will be eligible for a drawing at the end of the night. The grand prize is an acoustic guitar donated by Kona Guitars. Tickets at the door are $10, and the doors open at 5 p.m.

Also Saturday, Greg Burgess and Beverley Conrad will be at Penn’s Tavern, south of Sunbury on Route 147, from 6-9 p.m. with fiddle and piano favorites. Call 286-2007 for reservations. And singer-songwriter Eric Rachau is at McGuigan’s in Sunbury from 9-midnight. Will the Fiddler is at Puirseil’s Irish Pub on Sixth Street in Lewisburg from 7-10 p.m.

The brand new dance band, Into the Spin, makes its debut at the Lewisburg Club, 131 Market St., on Saturday night from 9-12. Featuring Andy Seal of the Burgess-Mitchell-Seal Trio and Jeremy Hummel, formerly of Breaking Benjamin, the band includes a three-man horn section and a female vocalist. Bring your dancin’ shoes for ’60s and ’70s classic rock and dance tunes. Coveris $10.

***

Sunday evening, Ann Kerstetter will be at Skeeter’s BBQ in Shamokin Dam, with Mark Tomeo and Bill Stetz, from 5-8 p.m.
