Now Hear This: Friday, Aug. 9

Tonight, The Blind Chitlin Kahunas, one of the area’s finest blues/funk band, is at the Links in Buckhorn from 8-11. The address is 55 Williamsburg Boulevard, Bloomsburg (but it’s located just behind the truck stop in Buckhorn).

The Front Street Station will have live music on the patio from 7-9 —  Cat Man Stu will be playing blues, rock and jazz.

Ricky and Harv will be playing the free stage at The Nationals in Bloomsburg from 8-11. This is a big-time car show with a flea market, food and displays.

DePotorland — with Fred Strickland, George Porter and Joe DeCristopher — can be found Friday at Puirseil’s Irish Pub in Lewisburg from 7-8. Also in Lewisburg, catch Ben Attinger at 7 p.m. at Colonel Ricketts’ Shoppe.

There’s an open jam beginning at 8 p.m. at Ye Olde Meeting Place, just north of Milton on Route 405. All musicians are welcome.

Eric Rachau will be at the Route 61 Roadhouse in Sunbury from 8-11 p.m. while The Loons will be at the Danville Moose from 9-10.

Don’t forget about these regular events every Friday: Alf Bayshore on dulcimer at Brews N Bytes, Lower Mulberry Street, Danville, playing for the lunch crowd from noon to 2 and Lux Bridge is at Puirseil’s Irish Pub in Lewisburg starting at 7 p.m.

Please send news about music and venues to Terry Baylor  (terrilm62@yahoo.com) by 5 p.m. on Monday for inclusion in Thursday’s “Now Here This.” Photos always welcome
