— Put on your dancing shoes — Sunbury has a unique night planned for tonight. Many of the downtown establishments have come together and are having free hay wagon rides running between their venues between 7 p.m. and midnight.
The venues hosting live music are: The Eagles have Duck, Duck, Goose at 7, The Fubar has Cresendo Sounds at 9, The Route 61 Roadhouse has Brandon Barnhart at 9 p.m. and Jim Bell will be at McGuigan’s at 10 p.m.
Venues hosting local DJs from 7-10 p.m. are The Edison Hotel, The Elks, The Top Hat and McGuigan’s so you can find music practically everywhere in the city.
Also happening tonight is the 15th annual Stroll Through the Arts with live bands playing for free in various venues in downtown Lewisburg. They include:
* Hannah Bingman, Cherry Alley Cafe, 7-9 p.m.
* Jina and Tom Rosencrans, Barnes and Noble Booksellers, 7-9 p.m.
* Rustical Quality String Band, Brasserie Louis, 8-10 p.m.
* Karen Nogle and Marc Tomeo, Mercado Burrito, 8-10 p.m.
* Royal Benson, Temperance House, 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.
* Folk Justice Band, Bull Run Tap House, 9 to 11 p.m.
* PA Crude, Town Tavern, 10 p.m. - Midnight
Rolf Sturm and Rob Henke, a jazz duo, will be the musical guests at The Elias Center for Performing Arts, 212-214 S. 5th St., Mifflinburg. The show starts at 7 p.m. Admission is $10. Get your tickets at www.mifflinburgpa.com or at the door.
The Frank Wicher Band is at the Shamokin Damn Fire Company beginning at 8. This is the band’s last show for two weeks — it’s hunting season and everyone knows how Frank likes hunting.
The Eighty Six band will be at The River House Brew Pub on Route 405, on the Montandon side near the bridge to Lewisburg, from 7-10 p.m. They welcome their newest member, Buzz Meachum, on bass guitar.
Chris Rattie and The Brush Valley Rumblers are hosting a CD release at The Elk Creek Cafe & Ale Works, 100 W. Main St., Millheim. Special guests for the night are Erin Condo & Wiggus. Call (814) 349-8850 or go to www.elkcreekcafe.net for more information.
Aftermath Unplugged will be at Ye Olde Meeting Place on Route 405 north of Milton at 9:30 p.m. Sterling Koch brings his slide blues to The Berwick Brewery, 328 W. Front St., Berwick, 7-11 p.m.
