Plein air art on wall of gallery

LEWISBURG — The June exhibit at Gallery 255 at the Public Library for Union County features plein air artists. Plein air artists experience and capture the environment in a painting.

The exhibit is the outcome of the first plein air event that was held April 27 for artists of all ages and abilities. The event was a partnership of the Merrill W. Linn Conservancy, the Lewisburg Arts Council and the Artist Guild and the goal was to preserve, with artwork, a present moment at various Linn Conservancy sites.

Artists from as far as Harrisburg painted throughout the day at four easement properties owned by the Linn Conservancy: in Union County the Dale Engle Walker House, in Northumberland County the Montandon Marsh, in Snyder County the Constance property and the Glacial Pools in Lycoming County.

Artists and organizations are encouraged to apply to exhibit items of artistic, cultural and intellectual interest in the library’s gallery and/or display cases. For more information, visit
