Now Hear This: Thursday, July 18

— Steve Mitchell will put on the hat of drum circle leader. The Friends of Shikellamy State Park is holding the second of three drum circles planned for the season. Mitchell will teach introductory drumming from 7- 8 p.m. at the marina park under the gazebo near the point. If you have a drum or percussion instrument, bring it along. There will be some instruments available for participants. This is an all-age event so bring the family.

If you venture over to The Old Forge Brewery, 282 Mill St., Danville, between 7-9 p.m., you will find Woody Wolf. Playing for the Thursday crowd, Jim McClincy is also playing in Danville at the Memorial Park 7-9 p.m.

Doug McMinn and Hannah Bingman will be at Milton’s Music in the Park in the gazebo along the river where Broadway and Front streets meet. The Improved Milton Experience (T.I.M.E.) will be grilling burgers and dogs; cold drinks available.

Jesse Wade Gang is the entertainment on tap tonight at the Benton Rodeo. They play 5-7 p.m. in the bandshell and then again 10-11.

Duck, Duck, Goose is hosting its first family camp-out at the Norry Hookie’s Grove, on Norry Hookie’s Road, Northumberland. It sounds like a blast! In addition to DDG, other bands scheduled to play are Willie Jack and the Northern Light, House with a Yard, Monkey and the Engineers, The Movers, Ol’ Cabbage, Blind Ellis, Mad Roots and who knows who else will show up. Gates open at 4 p.m. today; $25 cover, under age 12 free. Contact Mike (570) 556-0941 for information.

Please send news about music and venues to Terry Baylor (terrilm62@yahoo.com) by 5 p.m. on Monday for inclusion in Thursday’s “Now Here This.” Photos always welcome.
