Monetary prizes will be given in the following levels: Student, Adult Beginner, Adult Intermediate and Adult Advanced. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Opague (oils, acrylics, pastels), Watercolor, Photography, and Other (sculpture, graphics, collage, printmarking, etc.).
A new category has been added this year which will apply to all artists who choose to interpret it. A “Deeds of Peace” category, sponsored by The Slifer House, Lewisburg, in memory of Eli Slifer, dedicated to the soldiers and families in the wars in Iran and Afganistan.
In a speech honoring the service of soldiers who lost their lives in the Civil War, Slifer admonished his listeners by saying: “It was theirs to be grand in the triumphs of battle. It is ours to be good in deeds of peace.”
The Slifer House directors will choose a judge and award prizes in this category.
