Moose Exchange benefit to aid fire-impacted tenants

BLOOMSBURG — The Moose Exchange, a non-profit arts and cultural center, will hold a special fundraiser in conjunction with Bloomsburg’s Art Walk-In on Thursday, Feb. 20,  from 4-10 p.m. in the downstairs back room of the Caldwell Consistory, 150 Market St., Bloomsburg.

The event will benefit the tenants and artists who resided in the Moose Exchange when a fire swept through the building Jan. 30. The money raised will assist tenants and artists replace valuable items lost in the fire. Future fundraisers will be held to benefit the rebuilding of the Moose Exchange’s building.

The fundraiser will include a casual dinner, live music, and a silent auction.

Rod Kile with the restaurant Kreekside 2 will serve BBQ, chips and potato salad or applesauce from 4-8 p.m. with an admission cost of $10 per adult and $5 per child. There will also be live music from 4-10 p.m. For music only, there is a cover charge of $5.

The tentative music schedule is:

4-4:45 - Emily Inman

5-5:45 - Darren Inman

6-6:45 - Mime Tribes

7-7:45 - The Mighty Susquehannas

8-8:45 - The Clove Collective

9-10:00 - 3rd Street

Bloomsburg’s Annual Art Walk-In will take place in the downstairs front room of the Caldwell Consistory. Enjoy music by local performers Paul Loomis, The Early Music Ensemble, and George Chamuris, as well as artwork from all over the area.

Speak with artists about why and how they create artworks in photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, fibers, jewelry and other media.
