'Eye-popping' show will light up stage


He has danced principal roles in “Coppelia,” “The Nutcracker,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “Scheherazade,” “Petrouchka” and “Les Sylphides.” He danced the lead role and was a dance captain in Billy Joel and Twyla Tharp’s musical “Movin’ Out” for three years on Broadway. Carney, who has guested extensively across the United States as a dancer, teacher and choreographer, balances his directing and performing with instructing ballet at Tulane University.

The performance is sponsored, in part, by Coldwell Banker Penn One Real Estate and WNEP-TV.

Tickets for the performance are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 62+, $5 for youth 18 and under, and $10 for non-Bucknell college students. Tickets can be purchased online at or by calling the Campus Box Office at (570) 577-1000.

Tickets are also available in person from several locations including the Weis Center lobby weekdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; the Barnes & Noble at Bucknell University bookstore in Lewisburg weekdays and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, 12:30 to 4 p.m.; and the CAP Center Box Office, located on the ground floor of the Elaine Langone Center, weekdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The next performance in the Weis Center’s 2013-14 Series will be a Celtic music performance, Martin Hayes Masters of Tradition on Tour: Celebrating Irish Music in its Purest Form, on March 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Weis Center. Tickets are $20 for adults, $16 for seniors 62+, $10 for youth 18 and under, and $10 for all college students.
