— Greg Burgess, current solo champion of the Billtown Blues Challenge, is holding a fundraiser to help raise funds to go to the IBC International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tenn. — he’s representing central Pennsylvania in this international competition. The winning artist must pay food, lodging and traveling expenses. So he’s holding a fundraiser tonight at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Route 11 in Northumberland. The fun begins at 7 p.m. and admission is free. Come and help support Greg is this fabulous opportunity.
Shade Mountain Winery, Middleburg, will feature The Pepper Street Band from 3-5:30 p.m. as part of its Fall Harvest Festival that continues on Sunday. There will be a ton of fun activities like tours of the facility and “I Love Lucy” grape stompings. You can get more information at www.shademountainwinery.com. There is no cost to attend — the festival is the winery’s way of showing appreciation to its customers.
The Morgan Family and Uncle Bean are entertaining for Urban Folk Day at St. Paul’s UCC with country, bluegrass, and southern gospel show. They music starts at noon. Urban is in Lower Northumberland County, about 2 miles east of the Line Mountain High School on Urban Road.
Also today, the Countryside Contra Dancers’ monthly dance is at the Donald Heiter Community Center, 100 N. Fifth St., Lewisburg. Music will be provided by the Contra Rebels with Hilton Baxter calling lively dances from 7:30-9:30 p.m. New and experienced dancers of all ages are welcome. Admission is $8 adults, $5 for students and those under 18 are free. They say, “If you can walk, you can Contra.”

Over in Danville, the Old Forge Brewery’s grand opening celebration continues with Sleuth, on stage from 9:30-11 p.m.
Down in Sunbury, Brandon Barnhart will be at The Den at Routes 61 and 890, beginning at 8:30 p.m. and The Something Borrowed is playing at McGuigan’s from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
