Paragon's silent films return to Campus Theatre

— LEWISBURG  – On Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra will bring its"Haunted Hollywood" silent film show to the Campus Theatre, 413 Market St., Lewisburg. Both events will feature screenings of Buster Keaton’s 1921 comedy "The Haunted House", Charlie Chaplin’s "The Adventurer" (1916), and Harold Lloyd’s thrill-comedy "Haunted Spooks" (1921). All three films will be underscored with their original music and sound effects performed live by the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra. The spookily funny show will appeal to patrons of all ages; children are welcome.

All tickets for the event are $16 and can be purchased online at or by calling (570) 524-9511. Tickets may also be purchased at the door beginning three hours before each performance.

The Paragon Ragtime Orchestra, founded and directed by Rick Benjamin, is the world’s only full-time professional ensemble performing the music of silent films, early Broadway, and vintage dance. The orchestra has toured in 48 states and seven countries, and has appeared in most of America’s premiere concert halls. PRO has also won three major recording industry awards – the Gramophone “Editor’s Choice Award,” BBC Music’s “Editor’s Choice – Opera,” and the Stereophile “Recording of the Month” Award. The orchestra was also featured in The New Yorker magazine, and was the subject of a full-length article in The Wall Street Journal. On television, PRO has been heard recently on two episodes of the hit HBO series "Boardwalk Empire."
