— Tonight the monthly contra dance in Lewisburg takes place at the Heiter Community Center at 100 N. Fifth St. in Lewisburg from 7:30-10:30 p.m. This will be one of the final shows for Black Bear Crossing, the featured band, who will be playing for visiting caller Hilton Baxter from New York. Please wear soft-soled shoes to protect the dance floor. $8 cover.
Also tonight, Greg Burgess and Beverly Conrad are at Penn’s Tavern south of Sunbury on Route 147 from 6-9 p.m., and Duck Duck Goose is at Dan’s Den right outside the city at the junction of Routes 61 and 890 from 10 p.m.-1:30 a.m. And the Frank Wicher Band will be tearin’ it up at the Mifflinburg VFW just west of town on Route 45 from 9-midnight.
Second Saturday Open Mic of the Local Music Collective is from 7-9 p.m. at Puirseil’s Irish Pub, hosted by folkie Leo Armbruster. Folk, acoustic rock, jazz and blues performers can plug in and play. Puirseils also has a very nice baby grand piano available.
