The Third Annual Peace of Mind Fest will be held this weekend (tonight through Sunday) at Camp Muckleratz, in the beautiful Weiser State Forest, just outside of Elizabethville. It will be a full weekend of music, camping, good people and good vibes! More info is available at www.peaceofmindfest.com
There are still a few towns holding outdoor concerts this week. As usual, several weeks of shows were awash with summer showers so some towns gave the bands the option to play an alternate date. Tonight in Lincolm Park, Milton, the Blind Chitlin Kahunas play from 6:30-8 p.m., and over in Selinsgrove on the Commons, Ann Kerstetter and her band play from 6:30-8:30 p.m. (if it rains, this one is cancelled).
Also tonight, Woody Wolfe will be at Old Forge Brewery, 282 Mill St., in Danville from 7-9:30. Jim McClincy will be at The Den on Route 61 south of Sunbury from 6-9. Greg Burgess and Bev Conrad will be at Puirseil’s Irish Pub in Lewisburg from 6-8.
Another option for tonight would be to take a drive out to The Elk Creek Cafe in Millheim and take a look at The Jameson Boys. Having played together 10 years, touring all of the usual blues stops from the Delta to Detroit, they plan to kick your booty right on out to the dance floor.
Please send news about music and venues to Terry Baylor (firstname.lastname@example.org) by 5 p.m. on Monday for inclusion in Thursday’s “Now Here This.” Photos always welcome
