Comedy show brings laughs to Milton

MILTON -- If laughter is the best medicine, Joe Ohrin and a few of his friends have a strong prescription that will cure a bad case of cabin fever.

This Saturday, Ohrin, a noted comedian and amusing guy, will host an All Star Comedy Show at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Milton that also features the funny stuff from two additional comedians who have totally different styles.

“The show is going to be a lot of fun and will have you laughing from start to finish,” said Ohrin. “It’s cold outside and snowing and if you don’t come to the show your face is going to freeze and that won’t be good.“

The show includes the funny antics of John Carfi, a stand-up comedian who got his first gig at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles.

From there his career was something to laugh at, in a good way, after performing at casinos, corporate events, resorts and concerts, including shows for Dennis Miller and Michael Bolton.

With perfect timing and an arsenal of jokes and antidotes, Carfi has found his calling in life by making people laugh one joke at a time.

“John is an amazing guy and knows how to make sure the audience is enjoying themselves,” Ohrin said during a recent interview that found him somewhere in the wilds of Central Pennsylvania. “John has performed across the country and has opened for Kenny Rogers in Las Vegas.”

Also on the roster will be the comedy and craziness of Rubi Nicholas, the winner of Nick at Nite’s “Funniest Mom in America.”

With a unique point of view and friendly style, Nicolas has a perfect sense of timing and clear charisma.

In other words, she’s a hoot and a half.

Nicolas has also appeared in two seasons of the “Night Out” TV series and will be seen and laughed at on a new series, “NickMom,” later this year.
