This afternoon, the Campus Theater on Market Street in Lewisburg presents Mountain Minstrelsy from 3-5 p.m. This is a program of old-time country and folk music of the 19th century and will include commentary from several Bucknell University professors. Admission is $10 for what will be an enlightening afternoon, I’m sure.
Regular readers of The Daily Item will remember two serious fires that swept adjacent homes on Penn Street in Sunbury last month. Tonight, there will be a benefit dance for the victims of those fires at the Americus Fire Co. featuring four local bands, Hour of Judgment, Counterfeit Dreams, Timothy’s Burden and Jesse. All will perform for your dancing pleasure starting at 8 p.m. A $10 donation to a good cause gets you in the door.
Jazz trio Juice, with vocalist Elisabeth Guerrero, will be at Puirseil’s Irish Pub in Lewisburg from 7-9 p.m., and Stick and Bryan are at McGuigan’s Public House in Sunbury from 6:30-8:30. Also tonight, PA Crude will be at the Selinsgrove Moose from 9-midnight.
Send your music news to me at email@example.com by Monday evening to see it in this column on Thursday. I’m also looking for photos, so send them as well
