The Elias Center for the Performing Arts welcomes local singer/songwriter Karl Catherman of the band Tukurpa. From 1:30-3:00 p.m., he will perform MUSIC 101, playing and discussing the history of 10 different instruments. Karl will also explain the basics of music theory. All ages welcome. Elsewhere, Van Wagner’s will perform at 3 p.m. in Canal Park in Danville (by the borough building).
If you are planning attend Selinsgrove’s Brewfest — now called Hops, Vines & Wines — I hope you have already bought your ticket. They have sold out again this year. Anthony Clark will provide entertainment with “a blistering mix of contemporary blues with a funk edge.”
The Frank Wicher Band is Saturday’s entertainment from 5-7 p.m. and again 10-11 p.m. in the bandshell at The Benton Rodeo. Frank is larger than life, finally this cowboy is playing in a setting that suits him.
Doug McMinn solo, will be at Berwick Brewery at 7 p.m. They are located 328 W. Front St., Berwick. They serve delicious handcrafted pizzas too!
Jim McClincy will be at the St. Elias Festival from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at St. Elias Church on Hallowing Run Road, Sunbury. PA Crude is playing on Packer Island (between Sunbury and Northumberland) at the airport campground from 7-10 p.m.

There’s more — House with a Yard at the new Marley’s on Route 11, Bloomsburg, from 8-11; Jim Bell at McGuigan’s from 10 p.m - 2 a.m. and in Milton, Aftermath brings its high energy, heavy rock show to Ye Olde Meeting Place on Route 405 north of Milton. It is the first outdoor concert of the year in Freedom Field. Outdoor shows at this venue are from 8-11 p.m.
Ricky & Harv will be at The Riverhouse Brew Pub Saturday 9-11 p.m. Located on Route 405 across the river from Lewisburg, the Brew Pub also makes a yummy pizza — they serve up about 30 different varieties.
