— The Susquehanna Art Museum’s DOSHI Gallery is currently holding a special thematic exhibition at The State Museum of Pennsylvania. The exhibit, titled “Construction/Destruction,” will run utnil Dec. 1.
A public reception will be held 2-4 p.m. Sept. 8.
Two valley artists — Joanne Landis of Snyder County and Chet Davis of Northumberland County — each had paintings accepted into the juried show. They are the only artists from this area to have work in the show.
The exhibition’s theme is centered on the concept that our lives are lived in layers, each surface covering untold stories underneath as we work to overcome challenges brought on by difficulties and tragedies.
The museum is located at 300 North St., Harrisburg. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon to 5p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for children and senior citizens.
