— It’s time again for the 22nd Pocono’s Blues Festival. The event is held at Blue Mountain Ski Resort in Palmerton, Pa.
Festival goers prepare yourselves for three days of down and dirty blues on two stages! There are 15 national acts booked.
It all starts today when the gates open at noon and ends Sunday at noon. There are a number of ticket options with or without camping. To order tickets or if you want more information, go to Blue Mountains’ web site www.bluemt.com for all the event details.
Tonight, Kimbo and Bryan will be on the patio at Front Street Station, Northumberland, from 7-10 p.m. They’ll be playing some really good acoustic cocktail of blues and jazz.
Smooth Country will have people kickin’ up their boots at the Orangeville Fireman’s Carnival. They take the stage from 7-10 p.m.
At 5:30, Van Wagner will present a hard coal project followed by a free concert at Christ United Methodist Church in Danville.
Jim Wetzel and Friends are at McGuigan’s in Sunbury from 6:30-8:30.
If you feel like something out of the ordinary, perhaps a relaxing evening boat ride up the Susquehanna might suit your fancy. Tyler Spooner, a really good singer songwriter, is hosting a concert cruise on the Hiawatha in Williamsport at 9 p.m. These music cruises are really fun. For info on the Hiawatha see www.ridehiawatha.com.
And don't forget about these regular Friday events:
Alf Bayshore playing dulcimer music at Brews N Bytes for the lunch crowd, Lower Mulberry St., Danville from noon-2, and Lux Bridge at Puirseil’s Irish Pub in Lewisburg starting at 7p.m.
Please send news about music and venues to Terry Baylor (email@example.com) by 5 p.m. on Monday for inclusion in Thursday’s “Now Here This.” Photos always welcome.
